On 9th April 2026 at the Vet Farm, Ngong , the Department of Urban and Regional Planning University of Nairobi planted over 870 seedlings of indigenous trees.
The exercise supports the government’s strategy of planting 15 billion trees by 2032 to increase Kenya's forest cover from less than 10% to 30%. The government has set an ambitious target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032. Our collective aim should be to increase the national tree cover from the current less than 10% to a target of 30% by 2032. This is not just a number; it is a lifeline for our environment and future". More
