URBAN PLANNING STUDIO II FOR 3RD YEAR PLANNING STUDENTS CONDUCTED FROM 10TH-17TH APRIL

THEME: LOCAL PHYSICAL AND LAND USE DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR MAVOKO MUNICIPALITY – MACHAKOS COUNTY

• The purpose of this studio is to generate information that can be used to formulate a plant that will contribute to enhancing physical and land use development within the auspices of county planning. The specific areas of focus include identifying key challenges as concerns sustainable management of natural resources, provision of appropriate infrastructure and social services, institutional arrangements in the Urban areas of Kenya. The study will specifically target to also examine the exsisting institutional structures and their suitability for the sustainable management of natural resources, social amenities and infrastructure.
• The urban planning studio is intended to enable the student planner to prepare a plan to guide urban development. To do so, the student planner is expected to among others apply skills and techniques in urban planning as gained from theory classes.  More
