RURAL PLANNING STUDIO 2nd YEAR This year’s Rural Planning Studio is in Matungulu North Ward, Machakos County. Matungulu North Ward is located in Matungulu Sub-county. Other wards in Matungulu sub county include; Tala, Kyeleni, Matungulu East and Matungulu West. The purpose of the studio is to generate information that can be used to formulate a plan that will contribute to enhancing rural development. Areas of focus include identifying key challenges as concerns sustainable management of natural resources, provision of appropriate infrastructure and social services, institutional arrangements in the rural areas of Kenya. The rural planning studio is intended to enable the student planner to prepare a plan to guide rural development
