The Nairobi Innovation Week (NIW) started in 2015, and is an annual event celebrating local and international innovations while enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The University of Nairobi in collaboration with a large number of partners and stakeholders convene each year to organize and execute the NIW event.

Department of Urban and Regional Planning paid a visit to a CHERYL CENTRE in Dagoretti. Some of the activities involved mentorship. This was a great opportunity to mentor children about different topics. Mentorship sessions worked best for teenagers.
HOPE FOR SLUMS-KIBERA 2030 contributes to achieving the United Nations Agenda Target 11.1: "By 2030 ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services and upgrade slums". It has been designed in alignment with the criteria and principles of the UN Participatory Slum Upgrading Program.
