CURLA INTERIM COMMITTEE HELD ON 9TH AUGUST IN LEVEL 4 ADD BUILDING

 CURLA INAUGURAL MEETING
The Acting Dean, Faculty of Built Environment and Design (FBED)  Dr Samuel Maina presided over the start of the inaugural meeting of the Interim Committee (INTERCOM), Centre for Urban-Rural Linkages in Africa (CURLA). CURLA is a long-term output of the Covid-19 Impacts on Transportation of Food and Related Commodities in the Urban-Rural Nexus (Covid-19 ITFCURN), a collaboration project of the University of Nairobi and UN-HABITAT in partnership with Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe. The ADD building will house CURLA.

Membership of the INTERCOM is drawn from eleven University Departments. These are Departments of Biology, Agricultural Economics, Clinical Studies, Civil and Construction Engineering, Urban and Regional Plannng, Architecture, Arts and Design, Diplomacy and International Studies, Distance Studies, Geography as well as Real Estate, Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. In the UN-HABITAT members are drawn from Global Solutions Division and the Regional Office for Africa (ROAF).

The committee is chaired by Prof. Isaac K. Mwangi (Project Lead) and is tasked with branding the Centre and organizing its official launch in the month of October, 2023. More
