Integrated Regional Development Plan 2010-2040

The Ewaso Ng‘iro North River Basin Integrated Regional Development Plan is a long-term plan that aims at developing an integrated development framework for the region for a period of 30 years (2010 – 2040). It articulates the aims of equitable regional development to meet the regional and national development goals. It also proposes strategies and policies geared towards achieving the ENNDA‘s mandates.
This plan has been prepared in line with the Regional Development Policy and the provisions of the Physical Planning Act Cap 286 of the Laws of Kenya. The plan is the first of its kind prepared to address the global goal of sustainable human settlement and the unique challenges facing the ENNDA region. The plan addresses the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Kenya‘s National Policy blueprint, Vision 2030. It employs a participatory approach to planning, recognising the stakeholders and resource realities of the region.
The plan consists of the written statements and graphical representation of the existing and proposed interventions. The following paragraphs are an exposition of the vision and mission statements, goals, objectives, methodology, policy and legal context that sets the stage for the rest of the document.
